Established in 2025, A–Z Shining Smiles is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to dental care for Maricopa County residents who may otherwise go without. Our mission is grounded in Matthew 5:16.

“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

We believe that serving others with a shining smile reflects God’s light in the world. We aim to serve with compassion and faith, meeting people right where God has placed them.

    Brandy Murimi

    FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

    Brandy is a faith-centered advocate for oral health equity. She has experience in nonprofit administration and is currently pursuing dental assisting studies to further support the organization’s mission. She resides in Mesa, Arizona with her husband and their three sons.

    Shelby Garland

    CHAIR

    Shelby is a dental hygienist and a Navy veteran. She has a sincere passion for educating her patients and community on oral and systematic health. She resides in Chandler, Arizona with her husband and their two daughters.

    Shelby Stemple

    VICE CHAIR

    Shelby serves as a marketing director for two faith-based nonprofit organizations. She is driven by a deep commitment to reach people with the love of God by addressing their real, tangible needs. She lives in Chandler, Arizona, with her husband and their daughter.

    TREASURER

    Ethan has worked in healthcare finance at various organizations for the past seven years. His desire is to make a local impact by volunteering his time and financial expertise. He resides in Tempe, Arizona.

    Ashley is a registered nurse specializing in emergency medical research. With a heart to serve, she is eager to learn more about the dental field. She resides in Tampa, Florida with her husband and their three children.

A–Z Shining Smiles was founded by Brandy Murimi, a faith-driven and compassionate advocate for oral health equity. Born and raised in Florida, Brandy now resides in Arizona with her husband, Baraka, and their three boys—Bradyn, Beaux, and Benaiah.

Since 2019, Brandy has served as the Executive Assistant for Share International, Inc., a Christian ministry that trains and supports indigenous missionaries in East Africa. Through this work, she has developed a deep appreciation for service and stewardship.

Brandy’s inspiration for Shining Smiles grew from her own experience struggling to afford dental care as a young adult. During her first pregnancy, she learned how vital oral health is to overall health. Over time, she felt a clear calling from God to help others access the care she once lacked. She is now attending dental assisting school at the American Institute of Dental Assisting, with the goal of using her education to further support the mission.

Brandy believes God has guided every step of this journey and will continue to do so. Her desire is to reflect Christ’s love through the simple, yet powerful gift of a healthy smile.

In her free time, Brandy enjoys birdwatching, hiking, and spending quality time with her husband and three boys.
